Wine Related Question 1989 Preston Royal Tenrebac

I have a signed bottle of a 1989 Royal Tenrebac Port from Preston Winery in Washington State. I have been saving it for some time but I do not know how long it may keep. It is stored under ideal conditions in my cellar. Some who have opened bottles have said it was very, very good. Is it time to drink it now or can I keep it longer hoping it will age to perfection?

Answer by: Becky Sue Epstein

The time to age vintage port from Portugal used to be about 20 years. Lately, even the Portuguese are producing ports that can be aged less time. And the Americans may, too.

As I have never had the Preston, I can't tell you exactly when to drink this so I suggest contacting Preston winery directly. Their email contact and phone number is on their website at prestonwines.com
